Red Bulls Results: Emmys Edition

GIRLS:

In their first NY Cup game, 12N took a tough loss to Northport Cow Harbor United.

Down by two goals early in the first half, 12W stormed back to win 6-2.

13W lost today to the East Ramapo Rebels 4-2.

13N lost 4-0 to SUSA (Sayville) in their NY Cup game.  First half took the Red Bulls by surprise when SUSA scored two goals in two minutes, and that half ended 3-0. The Red Bulls upped their play in the second half and Nicole had some good attempts. Unfortunately SUSA scored one more goal late in the second half. There was good news, and Stella had a pre-game birthday celebration (photo below).

BOYS:

Before their game against Harrison Legends at Randalls Island today, Coach Manuel told the boys on 9W team that their task today was to use the space on the field to look to pass the ball to their teammates rather than trying to dribble around defenders.  The message was punctuated by the boys’ cheer before the game: “1-2-3 PASS!”

The team really took the message to heart and worked hard to transition from defense to offense effectively and then find the right pass in Harrison’s penalty area to locate the open teammate.
The final score was 8-3 in favor of the Red Bulls.  Ahaan had a hat trick in the first half and then held clean sheet as a goalie in the second half.  The other goals were scored by Daniel, Caleb, Jonas, Asher, and Vaughn.  New teammate Daniel won Star of the Game for his overall hustle and relentless pressing and harassing of the Harrison players which directly led to at least two Red Bulls goals.

9E shutout the  Manhattan Soccer Club Milan 4-0. The Red Bulls controlled the tempo from the start with a pressing attack that led to several close misses.  After numerous scoring opportunities and some back and forth action, Reyansh  drew a foul in the box late in the first half and put the team in front 1-0 with a solid strike on the penalty kick.

The B9E pressure continued to start the second half as the team took control of the game.  Multiple scoring runs led to goals by Tommy  (2) and James to open up the lead.  Throughout the second half the ball was mostly at the B9E end of the field as the team displayed solid ball movement and connected on numerous passes that led to scoring attempts.  The lockdown defense kept the shots on goal to a minimum throughout the game allowing Tommy W and Daniel to get credit for the clean sheet as B9E improved to 2-0.

10N tied Scarsdale 2-2.

10W dominated the play throughout their match against the JPSC Red Storm at Schiff Field.  Their players were hustling all over the field, making crisp passes, playing strong defense and creating a number of offensive chances.  They opened the scoring on a first half goal by Quincy off an assist from Luca.  They continued applying the pressure throughout the second half but could not break through for another goal.  With less than five minutes left in the game, they were caught too far up and gave up a breakaway equalizer and, with that, our game ended in a 1-1 draw.  It was great to see how our players are quickly responding to the concepts presented during training with Coach Tony and in their pre-game discussions.

11N earned a 6-0 win against EMSC Monaco 06.  All around fantastic play by the group in their first ever NY Cup game!  Six different boys scored.  Reilly looked great at outside mid and got his first goal with the team.

12N lost 3 to 0 to Port Chester.

12W lost 2-1 to Transvylania. Congratulations to Adam for scoring the first goal of the season, on a clever free kick from Max.

13N lost 3-2 in a heartbreaker.

14N lost 8-2

14W had a difficult game against Rye Barca at Riverdale, conceding a couple of early goals and were down 6-0 at the half. The Red Bulls’s reset and put in a much more committed performance in the second half with goals from Timmy (penalty) and Mikey and the game finished 6-2.

More scores as they arrive.
